THOMAS ANSCHÜTZ

Die Serie manzanar entstand im Jahr 2012.

Meine Absicht war es, historische Aufnahmen mit eigenen Bildern zu überblenden und daraus, sozusagen in der Verdichtung, einen Klang, eine Stimmung zu erzeugen, die mich teilnehmen lässt an den aussergewöhnlichen Ereignissen.

Die kleinformatigen Arbeiten (20x17cm) sind sämtlich auf Holz aufgezogen und mit eingefärbtem Epoxydharz vergossen, um die Brillianz der Bildinhalte zu steigern und den Pigmentdruck in die ästhetische Nähe eines Silbergelatineabzugs zu rücken.

The manzanar series was created in 2012.

My intention was to blend historical recordings with my own pictures and to create  a sound, a mood that allows me to participate in the extraordinary events.

The small-format works (20x17cm) are all mounted on wood and covered with tinted epoxy resin to enhance the brilliance of the image content and to bring the pigment print into the aesthetic proximity of a silver gelatin print.
